Inventory Menu Overview

Article Summary

This article covers an overview of the Inventory Screen within Sales .Live.

Working in the Inventory Screen

In the Sales .Live Home Menu you have an Inventory option.

View key information about your products and easily search for a particular product to see further details.

Searching for Products

To search across all the columns in the screen enter some text in the Search field:

Filter using Groups

You can filter the list for certain groups in 2 ways.

First, you can key in part of the group name in the filter row:

Or you can click on the filter icon and select the group from the list:

Stocked Items

By default the Inventory screen lists all products but you can have it show only products where there is a quantity on hand by selecting the Stocked Items check box:

Columns

Important Notes:

  • If you are an Admin User you'll see the complete set of columns. If you have more limited access you may not see all columns.

  • Before you start using Sales.Live, make sure it is set up and ready to go. If you’re not sure, refer to Initial Setup of Sales .Live

  • Any changes you make to the columns here will also affect the products list in the Quick Entry screen

Your list of products can include just the columns you want.

Just press the ‘Show/Hide Column’ button:

.. click the Column Chooser tab and click the icon to the right of the column names to turn them on or off (I’ve chosen to hide the Lead Time):

Re-arrange your Columns

If you prefer to have the columns in a different order, just click and drag the column headings in 'Column Chooser' using this icon:

and move them to the positions you want.

Sort your Products List

Just click on a column heading to sort the list by that column:

The sort indicator shows if the list is in ascending or descending order. Click it again to reverse the sort.

You can sort by multiple columns by holding the Shift key and clicking another column heading.

See Warehouse Stock

If your Business System maintains its Inventory in multiple locations you can see this information here too.

The total stock for all locations is shown in the Qty column but if you click on the Qty you will see the breakdown by location:

See other prices

If your Business System provides for multiple prices per product you can view them by clicking on the Price:

Note: If your Business System is Sage Evolution and you have warehouse based prices then if your login is linked to a warehouse you will see that warehouse price.

See the full Details

You can view the full details of each product by clicking on the Details button:

See the
Product Details Tab for an explanation of what’s shown here.
