Step 6: Configuring Your Project

Step 6: Configuring Your Project

With your API credentials verified, the final step is to configure your project settings.

This determines how the AI behaves and which data sources it can access.

6.1 Open Project Settings

Navigate back to My Projects from the left menu. Find your newly created project in the list and click the Settings (gear/cog) icon on the project card.

6.2 Configure Project Parameters

This settings page is evolving rapidly, so don’t be surprised if you see different settings.

(Remember, you can always check with us on Support@PlusSoftSolutions.com)

In the project settings page, configure the following key settings:

Properties Tab

  • Project Information: Project name and description

  • Quick Questions: Add in questions here to avoid having to retype

  • AI Properties

    • Select AI Model: Confirm "Claude Sonnet 4.5" is selected

    • Model Temperature: Set to a low value (e.g., 0.1) for more consistent, factual responses. Temperature controls randomness - lower values (0.0-0.3) give more predictable outputs, while higher values (0.7-1.0) provide more creative but potentially less accurate responses.

Data Tab

Business System: Choose your business system

Data Sources:

  • System: Switch the data source toggle from "Warehouse" to "Connector"

Instructions Tab

Prompts: These are instructions provided to the AI before each chat. There is more detail around this in the PlusLive AI User Guide.

Directives: This is information that the AI can retrieve to help understand your data.

TIP: More important details about Prompts and Directives are explained in the PlusLive AI User Guide.

Tools Tab

This section shows the core tools available to the AI. The essential tools are enabled by default.

  • Database Tool: Allows the AI to query your connected databases

  • Date Tool: Enables the AI to understand and work with dates

Permissions Tab:

This section is very important. If no permissions are setup up for your Project, Users will have full access.

The Vendor Business System and PlusLiveAI have separate, independent permission systems:

The Vision connector account provides the "pool" of available data, but project-level permissions determine what each user can actually access.

We suggest senior management starts the initial work with PlusLive AI and then, with the help of your Partner, set permissions up for others within the organisation.

6.3 Save Configuration

Once you've configured all settings appropriately, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save Changes button.

The system will validate your configuration and save the settings.

💡 CONFIGURATION TIP:

Start with conservative settings (low temperature, essential tools only) and adjust based on your experience.

You can always return to project settings and modify the configuration as you become more familiar with how the AI responds to your queries.
