Setting up your First Cashflow Schedule
Setting up a Cashflow within
Forecast.Live is easy!
In fact, because we’ve created a Data
Connector between your Accounting and Forecast.Live, the real time Cashflow Forecast is ALSO QUICK to roll out.
Important:
To generate a Cashflow,
Forecast.Live will need to have been connected to your Accounting using the Plus.Live Data Connector (DC).
This automatically brings in General Ledger information into
Forecast.Live, including Bank Accounts that can be mapped, so opening balances can be initiated.
If the DC has not been setup, contact your I.T. Administrator or Plus Software on Support@Plus.Live
Let’s get started with your first Cashflow Forecast.
On the left hand menu, scroll
down to the heading "Forecasting" and click on Cashflow Forecast:
As this is your first Cashflow Forecast,
a Forecast Setup screen is automatically opened.
You'll need to input some parameters to start your Cashflow Forecast (Schedule):
Let's explain the parameters:
- Name: The Name of a Cashflow Forecast must be unique across
your entire company – including other users of Forecast.Live, and private
Forecasts. This is also the name that is used as the sheet name at the bottom
of the screen.
- Description: In your own words, describe what kind of Cashflow Forecast this is.
- Number of days: Choose a Forecast period somewhere between 15 to 365 days. There is a current limitation
of a one year/365 Forecast period.
- Private To Me: Forecasts may be set to private.
This Forecast can only be edited by your login, and no other Users in your company can see or edit it.
- Is this the Focus Forecast: Your Primary Forecast. Hover over the ? to see more.
- Exclude Starting/Overdue/Past Due Debtors from Bank: If this box is ticked, any Debtors THAT ARE Overdue, or Past Due will not be included in your Cash at Bank row.
- Exclude Starting/Overdue/Past Due Creditors from Bank: As above, but with Creditors
- Mappings/Bank Accounts: The Bank Account section allows the User to allocate
which accounts are the Bank accounts for this Forecast. This determins the
Forecast’s starting balance.
When completed, click on Start Cashflow Forecast, on bottom right:
IMPORTANT:
Once you have added your first Forecast, additional settings will become available to you:
Add/Edit Forecast: This allows you to either edit an existing Forecast or
add another one or two, or multiple Forecasts.
Copy Forecast: We implemented the ability to copy a Forecast so that
financial planners and managers could easily create a more ‘sandbox’
environment to trial their "What If" scenarios and change figures without the
need for lengthy setup. The pane that opens allows a user to change the Forecast’s properties before
creating the new Forecast. The copied forecast uses these and also copies all
data from the original including Schedules, Groupings, Orders, Manual Data and
more.
Delete Forecast: This button deletes a Forecast and all of its internal
data.
If you delete a Cashflow Forecast, this operation can’t be undone, so please take care!
