How secure is the Data Connector within Plus.Live?

The Data Connector (DC) uses industry standard HTTPS/SSL (TLS v1.2) encryption for all connections to the Plus.Live Servers - the same as when going to the site in a browser.

All connections for the Data Connector (DC) are initiated from the clients side, outwards, to the Plus Servers (over HTTPS, the same as a browser) using websockets.

This means that no ports are opened up on the clients side for the DC.

If the connection drops off, the DC will re-initiate a connection to our Servers.

Once that connection is established, it allows Plus to make requests to the DC, which then in turn makes those requests to the Database Server, and provides a response back to the DC, then back to Plus.
