Setting the SSL certificate for Snapshot Web

Setting the SSL certificate for Snapshot Web

SnapshotWeb should be configured securely using a SSL certificate. Here are the requirements:

• Snapshot Web runs on Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
• IIS needs to be able to communicate with the SQL Server where the Snapshot database is hosted
• A Static WAN IP at the location/office wherever IIS is located
• Hostname configured to point to above WAN IP (for example snapshot.companyname.com but this can be anything)
• SSL certificate purchased for the above hostname. Note: The SSL Certificate needs to be renewed and installed each year.
• Port forward from Router to IIS, preferably Port 443 (default HTTPS Port) but if already being used can be anything, for example 10443
• SSL Certificate installed on the IIS Server and bindings setup for HTTPS in IIS
• SnapshotWeb files installed and configured in IIS. Ensure the site where SnapshotWeb is configured is using the HTTPS bindings.
