Error Message - Dashboard or Widget failed to load

If this error pops up when running a Dashboard: 

Sorry this dashboard or widget failed to load. Please see the error message below for more information:

You Dataset is too large, with more than xxx xxx rows. Snapshot.live has a limit of 500000 rows. We do this to manage resources.

Please contact your partner or Plus Software if you need further assistance.


Then this means your Dashboard has too many rows.


By way of explanation, Plus Software has had to implement a row limit to the number of rows of data uploaded to Snapshot.live to stop Dashboards from freezing or timing out due to too much data. 

This row limit is based on how many rows the query (the Dashboard uses) returns.

If you get this error, it will be because more than 500 000 rows were returned for your Database for the specific query and will more then likely be too big for the Dashboard to run.

To resolve this, you will need to get the query to reduce the number of rows it returns. You can do this in a number of ways:

  1. The Date Range parameters will limit the number of rows returned, so maybe narrow down the date range if it is over many months; 
  2. You could also add extra parameters to further reduce the number of rows returned.

You may need to consult with your Business Partner to help with the queries and parameters.
