Custom parameters within the Dashboard design section of Snapshot

Custom pass through parameter with multiple values

When in the Snapshot Dashboard Design mode, you can have a pass through parameter that has multiple values within Snapshot Business Intelligence.

For example you may have a Sales Rep dashboard and a specific rep may have 2 rep codes. You can pass through both rep codes to the Dashboard.

You can achieve this as follows:

When setting up the parameter set the fields as follows:
  • Visible = No
  • Allow Null = No
  • Allow Multiselect = Yes (note you first have to set 'Look-Up Settings' to Static List)
  • Name = Name you give to the parameter, no spacing
  • Description = Same as above, not visible
  • Look-Up Setting = Static List
  • Select All Values = No
  • Type = Choose appropriate for the field type
  • Value = Leave blank

Now set up a filter on the Data Source and when linking to your parameter use the option 'Is any of'

Save and exit the Dashboard.

Now head to the Setting tab under Manage Logins, and edit the users.

Add in a Custom Parameter and give it the name exactly the same as what you named the parameter.

The parameter value can be one or multiple. If multiple separate each by a comma, eg. Rep1,Rep3,Rep3
